Shared-Decision Making Committee (SDMC)

The SDMC (Shared Decision‑Making Committee) in HISD plays a vital role at each campus. It’s a collaborative advisory group—composed of the principal, teachers, non‑instructional staff, parents, community and business members—that:

  • Reviews and sets academic goals, budgets, staffing, curriculum, and school-wide planning

  • Monitors implementation of the School Improvement Plan and approves professional development for staff

  • Uses a consensus-based process to consider and address issues brought forward by parents, staff or administration

  • Meets regularly—quarterly or monthly—and involves standing committees on topics like budgeting, staffing, curriculum, planning, and staff development

We warmly welcome all interested parents to join. Whether you're elected by the PTO or tapped for a standing committee, your voice matters. Let’s work together—teachers, staff, families, and community—to strengthen our school.

The first meeting for this school year is scheduled for September 23, 2025.
